There’s Nothing Like Showbiz

To be Invisible or Invincible

Once you toss your ring inside the business circle, there is no turning back. To survive the inevitable vicissitudes punctuating the business world, there is no way you should let your business remain invisible. After all the hoopla of investing and costly advertising campaigns, your next move is to keep your business running to stay alive (read profitable).

A show of force is needed to let people know your business is around to provide them the goods or services they need. The economical mode to stay visible is to have your business emblem evident in all your business card holders, business cards, stationeries, and website banner. Also launch attention-grabbing promos and kick-ass tactics to ovrtake competition.

True, businesses are picking up unconventional strategies to be noticed. Marketing guru Seth Godin stressed the advantage of being different. Product, pricing, promotion, publicity, positioning, packaging, permission, and pass along are not enough; you need a purple cow - something different to get ahead in business. Cows are identical and people easily fed up with ho-hum marketing tricks so when you show something different like a purple cow, they will sit up and notice.

For instance, you are advertising a new flask collection and introducing a new line of pewter flasks, how do you tower over others? Additional investment? Brazen promos? How about promoting or positioning your bid differently? Enough of the usual roll call that these are grand gift items, how about endorsing it as a utility item for travelers? You can also offer these as creative hotel giveaways for travelers and guests.

Bold and Beautiful

When people shop, they always take time inspecting items with attractive packaging and reasonable pricing. With a plethora of competition out there, be bold and beautiful. Be bold with your pricing (a little bit lower than competition) and beautiful with creative packaging. Want more mileage? Do not think that the business challenges of the day you have conquered are the same as the next. With this go-get motto in mind you can survive and handsomely.

However, in business, it is not always about marketing products and raking in tons of cash. There are other contributing factors towards success inside and out of your business premises. Take time to ruminate on the management aspect of the business:

* Are your employees happy?
* Is your working crew making your business a familiar household-friendly buzz word?
* Are they always using business stuff that displays your logo?
* Do they answer customer queries promptly and politely?
* Are they dressed suitably when they are on field dealing with prospective customers and suppliers?

Your employees are the invincible forces in your business. They are the front liners and have all the chances to make or beak your business. Give them the ammunition to show what your business can give. In “show” business, what customers see and hear will make that profitable difference.
