If A Small Organisation Is Suffering Because Of The Financial Downturn Is There An Economical Way Of Getting An Overdue account Paid By A Large Organisation?

posted in Bricks and Mortar Business |

maybe the economic downturn has hit small firms the hardest in the business community since they could well have limited revenue income streams and would value all of the customers they have. If such a small organisation has been working with a large organisation for some time and has seen a repeated income from them, they could be surprised if they realise that their last account has become overdue and calls to the large organisation do not seem to get a positive answer. If any other of their revenue streams have been affected the small organisation could well be in a difficult position when it comes to their next step, since if they opt for Debt Collection then the typical solutions could work out rather expensive. solicitors and Debt Collection Agencies tend to charge a percentage of the account value as their fee and this can be in the 10% to 20% range, which could be a significant drop if the small organisation needs to recoup all of the money it can.

If the small organisation is prepared to put some dedication into this Debt Collection project then they could well consider a DIY solution by using Debt Collection Software, which will allow them to take on the Debt Collection internally. This can be a far cheaper path than solicitors or Debt Collection Agencies because Debt Collection Software is priced from around £40 upwards and further more it is a one-off purchase which can be used for as many Debt Collection projects as required, whereas the solicitors and Debt Collection Agencies charge their fees for each and every Debt Collection project they take on.

Of course, buying the Debt Collection Software is only the first step; the small organisation will need to supply sufficient resources in terms of people and possibly ICT equipment. There could be a cost involved here in terms of people working on the Debt Collection Software and not on their normal tasks, but if business is quiet then this could well be a good use of their time. The most significant resource is the people since their efforts can make or break the Debt Collection project. The people who create the debt collection letters will need to have a good command of English, because these debt collection letters will be sent to the large organisation and so cannot have any spelling or grammatical problems in them or this can derail the Debt Collection process. The Debt Collection Software should come with a good documentation set because the people in the small organisation could well be new to Debt Collection and so will need to have some guidance on what is involved. The documentation set should be able to give this resource, couldbe as an on-line or DVD based tutorial. There should be comprehensive advice on how to create the debt collection letters, covering topics such as the Acts of Parliament that can be used, useful phrases and clever ideas that Debt Collection Agencies use that can be incorporated. For ease of use the Debt Collection Software should include a set of templates to cover debt collection letters suitable for each part of the Debt Collection process. In this way someone in the small organisation can update these templates with the organisation identity and then they can be used as a starting point for live debt collection letters. In this way it is hoped that the small organisation can get a good return on the Debt Collection Software by the use of good quality debt collection letters and convince the large organisation to pay the current account and to ensure that future ones and once again paid on time
